Senior Director of Data Product Strategy
Sr. Director is expected to drive research and analysis from both a qualitative and quantitative context and to use that discovery to build solid, data driven business plans and strategies which include appropriate ROI and related financial analysis. He/she is expected to be highly skilled in developing those plans as well as in delivering and selling their vision through all levels of management within the organization. In addition to a strong strategic orientation, this individual must be able to translate that information into tactical, actionable requirements for product development and productization. Sr. Director will become the business owner and will be expected to determine clear prioritization and appropriate trade-offs by understanding constraints, dependencies, costs, resources and customer benefits. The Sr. Director will also be required to lead and manage complex data analytics projects to determine the value of specific data combinations.
Responsibilities:
• Determine and evaluate new opportunities to increase revenues and profits.
• Lead full lifecycle product development process from business case planning through product development, launch and customer acquisition.
• Develop and lead a high performance product team
• Define product strategy and product roadmaps with clear objectives and long term vision.
• Coordinate and analyze market research to understand customer behavior, product satisfaction, and emerging business opportunities.
• Identify new data products that balance a favorable return on investment with customer needs and company requirements.
• Work with prospects, customers and partners to define product requirements and functionality
• Team with product development to help orchestrate the development and release process
• Suggest and drive partnerships for products.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure product delivery and quality goals are achieved and maintained.
• Engage in customer-facing activities such as customer conferences, customer visits and tradeshows.
• Define value positioning for products to assist other areas of the organization in marketing and positioning of the products
• Develop materials to present to senior management and the Board of Directors on new product ideas and businesses
• Drive decision-making processes to align product initiatives with overall strategy and investment capacity
• Provide marketing leadership on product development to ensure product enhancements meet market needs; responsible for pricing strategy
• Deliver sales support training, sales/marketing collateral, and direct support on strategic sales opportunities
• Develop SRS name recognition and deliver thought leadership to develop industry reputation
Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree (or equivalent experience)
• MBA or hands on experience with a start-up company (management consulting experience preferred)
• 3-5 years related automotive experience, experience with specific automotive data, manufacturers and dealers preferred
• 10 years of progressive growth in product management, marketing and business development
• Start-up and P&L experience a plus
• Experience writing business plans, product and functional requirements for software and data products
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams at all levels including Board of Directors
• Must be self-motivated, resourceful and possess a high level of initiative and integrity
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment
• Superior analytical and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to interpret market research in order to synthesize business requirements
• Must be highly entrepreneurial
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Project Management skills / experience desired
• Available for domestic travel (50%)
